The Course

The fixed racing course leads sailors around some of the Annapolis area’s most memorable spots. The Annapolis Weather buoy, Hackett’s can, Thomas Point Lighthouse, and R2 are all on the mark list. Most boats will have no trouble finishing the course in less than three hours in nearly any condition. And the course configuration means that nearly every point of sail is covered, regardless of wind direction.

START

The start line is a line formed between the Annapolis NOAA Lighted Data Buoy (AN) and Naval Anchorage Light A. Leave the weather buoy to starboard and the A mark to port.

MARK #1

Leave Hackett Point Green lateral buoy “1” to starboard.

MARK #2

Leave South River Junction Buoy “SR” to port.

MARK #3

Leave Annapolis Harbor Channel Lighted Buoy “2” to port.

FINISH

The finish line is a line formed between the Annapolis NOAA Lighted Data Buoy (AN) and Naval Anchorage Light A. Leave the weather buoy to port and the A mark to starboard (not port like the start).
